They exist worldwide and will readily invade well-maintained suburban residences as well as garbage dumps. Evidence of a rat or mouse in your home should be cause for immediate action. The species that most frequently infest houses are the Norway rat, Roof rat and the House mouse. They may burrow in the ground or climb your pecan tree and eat their fill every night. They will invade your garden and munch on tomatoes or eggplant and have strawberries for dessert. If you tolerate their presence outdoors, it will be only a matter of time till you find them feasting on leftovers on your kitchen table.

If allowed to proliferate, rats and mice can pose a serious health hazard. A rodent bite is serious and should be treated by a physician. Although we normally don’t think of Squirrels as being rodents, they are and they will do mischief similar to that of rats.
