Enviro Pest Control
issues the contract to the builder and then to you, the homeowner. The builder pays for the first year. The first year starts from the date of treatment. After the first year or at the anniversary date, the homeowner is responsible to keep up the contract from there and the contract has an annual renewal fee to maintain coverage.
Some homeowners are under the impression that your homeowners insurance will take care of termite damage if you have any, guess what? They don’t…
Post Construction:
Let’s say you have a home without a termite contract and you would like to place your home under a termite contract, well we can do that as well. It is best to have your home treated before there is a problem; it’s less expensive and less chance of having your investment chewed up by these little monsters… Very simple, call us or e-mail us with your information at info-now@enviropestinc.com.
We will be glad to setup an appointment, free of charge, to take a look at your home and give you an estimate to explain what you need or don’t need.
Post Construction with a termite infestation: Well, same as above, we can come out to take a look at your home, determine where the infestation is coming from, and see how much damage has been done, if any.
NOTE: Sometimes, Eastern Subterranean Termites at certain times of the year, will swarm, it’s mating season…They are subterranean, they come from the ground up, they don’t know a house is above them, they have to get out of the ground to mate, they fly in the air, mate, land back on the ground, lose their wings, then get back into the ground to deposit their eggs, which is how they reproduce.

If you have had a swarm in your home, you may have seen hundreds, if not thousands of these little monsters all over the house, and excuse the language but, just freak out.
Ah………… In most cases, you have had just that,
a swarm, and no damage, just an area that termites swarmed out of for mating. Now the little monsters that eat all the wood are not far behind.
But, if a swarm occurs, have your pest control company come as soon as possible and in most cases he or she can treat that area without any real damage, just exit holes. That’s what we call it in the business, just pinholes that were bored threw drywall or maybe a crack in the floor.
Fact: Termites eat the season sap of soft woods, so even if they get into your home or an exterior wall just remember; there is only a portion of the wood that gets eaten, any way. Think of it as having a marble cake, where the icing goes throughout the cake and that is the season sap of soft wood. They would eat only the marbled portion of the cake and not the hard part of the cake, I hope that makes sense…
Fact: Carpenter Ants, do they eat and consume wood or get nutritional value from it ? ? ? ? ? No they don’t, it’s a myth, or you may have been misled. Carpenter Ants however, do not eat wood, but they will remove it and eject it as sawdust in the process of constructing galleries for nesting, and the wood has to be very soft, wet or decaying for this process to happen. But, 9 times out of ten, if you have carpenter ants, there is a moisture problem somewhere near by. And, if you see any areas chewed up in very small pieces of wood, this would be the sawdust like shavings, not termites. This is where ants have excavated an area and sawdust is apparent.Fact: Termites forage the first 8 to 12 inches of the soil everywhere in Florida, yes, I said everywhere! If you live near any woods or have wood debris on the ground that has been there for a while, look under it, you may see white maggot looking bugs, that’s a termite. And, in no way am I implying that if you live near woods, you are going to have or get termites, because as I stated, termites are everywhere in the ground.
Beware: Homeowners, please beware, example: You are home on a Saturday, you get a knock on the front door and it is a hot shot sales person wanting to give you a free termite estimate.
Well, no harm so far, they spend a few minutes inside and then go outside. Then, they knock on the door and say Mr. or Mrs. Jones come outside, I have found termites, and of course, automatically you start to get worried. Follow the pest control Sales Person outside to an area away from the house, maybe in the middle of the front yard, he or she rolls over a landscape timber and Walla………… Termites.
Then, you are told you have termites and it’s going to cost you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to treat your home, or soon they will eat your home down. This is false and misleading, as I said earlier, termites are in the ground everywhere.
You should make sure that you have adequate chemical protection under and around your home. Termites out in the yard pose no problems.
Conclusion: Just because you have termites in the yard, under a piece of wood, doesn’t mean there is a problem. Just because you have a termite swarm in the yard, near the home, doesn’t mean you have a problem. Just because you have a termite swarm in your home doesn’t mean your house is going to fall down.
Chances are that all you have had is a swarm and very little damage, if any, has occurred.
